It's hard to believe that Christmas Eve is only a week away, but that is the case. Just a handful of days remain in the year before we begin anew. Before we get there, however, I still have few more songs and photos to share with you! Today's photo is a shot from a morning in August as low clouds and fog were burning-off in Wenham and Beverly and an area opened-up over Wenham Lake.
#14 Kathryn Joseph
Scottish singer/songwriter Kathryn Joseph checks-in at #14 in my Top-30 favorite songs of 2018. She released her debut album, "Bones You Have Thrown at Me and Blood I've Spilled" back in 2015. He second full length LP, "From When I Wake the Want is" arrived last August and it is an absolutely gorgeous and haunting affair. I'm adding the title-track to the Lights-Camera-30 playlist!
Coming into college radio for the first time in 1988, I certainly already knew who The Smiths were. The only problem was that there would be no more albums from them as guitarist Johnny Marr departed following 1987's "Strangeways, Here We Come," leaving lead-singer, Morrissey wondering what to do next.
He figured that out pretty quickly and just six months after the last Smiths album had dropped, he launched his solo career with his debut album, "Viva Hate." That record turned 30-years-old this year. Let's celebrate that withe song, "Suedehead." It's just been added to the Anniversary-30 playlist. Happy listening! -Kristen
